about

I’ve always had a fascination with the passage of time in terms of how it affects colour along with the beauty inherent in the process of decay.

I grew up near the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland, so perhaps growing up near this rugged and wild coastline instilled in me the rhythmic language of nature. This manifests in particular in my original paintings of various abstract seascapes and landscapes, which use colours and tones from nature, textured with parallel ripples running through the centre, suggesting misty horizons and hidden lands.

In addition to the abstracts, I create prints and originals denoting dreamy portraits of subjects from the natural world such as wild horses, flying birds, butterflies and echoes of people. Infused with themes of freedom and movement, these are full of loose, sketchy strokes and explosive colour.
